Korean electronics giant LG is set to release the the world’s first ‘full 3D’ smartphone in mid-February.

Dubbed the Optimus 3D (Transformers anyone? ;)), users will be able to record and view video in 3D. Special glasses are not mandatory, as is the case with larger 3D-capable devices. The phone will sport a dual-lens camera for 3D recording and multimedia connections including HDMI and DLNA that will let users stream 3D video to TV screens and computer monitors.

There have been other 3D capable smartphones but those required 3D glasses (who wants glasses to look at their phone?)

Sprint Nextel, HTC, Sharp & Samsung are also planning on releasing 3D capable smartphones in the next couple weeks.

Tech it or leave it 😛
