Jordan goes grown ‘n’ sexy with this cool line of shoes.

Love the clean, simple silhouette of the shoe and the subdued, neutral colourways made out of plush materials.

Check out these exceptionally well-made Para boots from the Woolrich Woolen Mills footwear range.

As described on freshness mag these stylish, sophisticated boots “feature wingtip brogue details, gray Melton Wool segments sandwiched between rich full grain leather in dark brown color, a two-tone material application and a fresh approach to a classic design. The uppers are then sewn onto Goodyear welt soles, with wooden heels raise the profile slightly.”

Absolute class and sophistication for your feet.

Here’s a closer look at one of the pieces from the A Bathing Ape Classics: Second Edition collection; the stadium (varsity) jacket, which is based on designer and founder Nigo’s original design from his collection circa 1995.

Available in Red or Beige Melton Wool with Premium Leather Sleeves in white, this limited edition jacket is definitely a ‘swag-raiser’.

Two iconic, uniquely American names team up on this sneaker collaboration.

Superman, the Man of Steel and benchmark for all superheroes, and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star, quite possibly the most popular and most worn sneaker in history.

This new ‘capsule’ sneaker collection comes in two different styles: a blue minimalist pair with Superman ‘S’ logo on the outer ankle of the shoe and a white/red/blue ‘comic book style’ pair that features illustrations of Kal-El doing his thing.

Both sneaker styles feature comic strip artwork of the Man of Steel in action on the inside.

If you ask me, this is a pretty cool collaboration between two American cultural icons.

Nice one!

A Bathing Ape presents Bape Classics Second Edition Capsule Collection, to commemorate it’s 18th anniversary.

The line will be made available this month and features simple, classic pieces and styles that have re-emerged over the past 18 years, slightly embellished with a modern twist.

So think varsity jackets, chinos, sweaters, down jackets and tennis shoes.

I’ve got to say, from what I’ve seen, I’m really digging the line.

BAPE remains a relevant force in fashion in 2011.

In a world first, Pharrell Williams’ Billionaire Boys Club clothing line will be collaborating with Nigo’s BAPE label, for Fashion’s Night Out (Thursday, 08 Sept 2011), with a T-shirt line.

To sum up the collabo in 4 words: BBC logos in camo.
Hard to believe this collabo hadn’t already occured.

‘Even intergalactic super-villains need a holiday’ seems to be the message being conveyed in this piece of art by Franco Brambilla, entitled Odio l’Estate (I Hate Summer).

A nice addition to the ever-expanding universe of Star Wars art.

Warning! I repeat, warning!

*SPOILER ALERT*

If you’re the type that does not like to be too heavily informed about a major upcoming movie event, then this little article is definitely not for you!

New pictures from the set of Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ have emerged on the web and give us a better look at some of the core characters, in particular Bane and Miranda Tate, not forgetting the main title character, that being Batman of course.

The set photos include a good close-up look of Christian Bale in The Batsuit looking pretty badass, as well as a more detailed look at Tom Hardy as Bane, rocking cargo pants and a shearling coat, as well as the now somewhat infamous mask (a melange of Shredder from ‘Ninja Turtles’ & Scorpion from ‘Mortal Kombat’).

I’ve got to say I quite like Nolan’s version of Bane thus far, which is more military-esque, perfectly fitting in his more realistic Batman universe.

Also, quite interesting to note is that, judging from the pics, Marion Cotillard’s Miranda Tate will be much more involved in the action than previously suggested – she was initially and briefly described as “Wayne Enterprises board member”. She’s pictured on top of the Tumbler (the Batmobile) in one of the pics, ready for action.

Seems there’s a lot more in store as far as the plot is concerned…

I of course geeked over the pics of the Batpod (Batcycle) and the camouflage Tumbler (Batmobile), however the shots I’m most excited about, are the ones of Batman going up against Bane.

While Bale’s Bats definitely has the height advantage, Tom Hardy’s stockier, heavy-set Bane still certainly cuts a tough, menacing figure.

It certainly looks like The Dark Knight Rises is going to be every bit the epic masterpiece that it is expected to be.

Watch this space for my updates!

For now though, enjoy these pics, courtesy of MTV & GQ

Bespoke: a term used worldwide to describe an individually-tailored or custom-made product or service.

Derived from the word ‘bespeak’ (to speak or stand for something), it has been used as far back as the 16th century, to describe specially ordered goods.

In my opinion, it certainly is a fitting word to describe the piece below.

Without an ounce of exaggeration, this could very well be the most beautiful custom-made Nike Air Force One that I have ever seen.

For grown folks who have many “leather-bound books” & whose pads smell like “rich mahogany”…

All jokes aside though, a job very well done by The Maverick Project for Nike.

Article and pics below via: freshness mag

“Two life-long sneaker aficionados, Carlos Sanchez and Tim Rodrigues, secured the coveted winners’ circle on Marcus Troy‘s Maverick Project recently.
The prize, to collaborate on a one-of-a-kind Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke.

Follow an intense design session at Nike Sportswear 21 Mercer, the result was a study of “grown”, “classy and original”, each a correlation to the 3 materials used – waterproof wool, leather, and Kevlar.

Like fine Scotch whiskey and cigars, a deep hue of mahogany brown translate each participants’ character perfectly.

For that added personal touch, the lettering on the lace dubrae spell out the names of Maverick Project‘s 2 winners.
A fine reflection of all 3 men’s curated pursuits.”
