According to the New Zealand Herald KFC is to launch their new Double Down Burger/Sandwich thingie.

What makes this so special… While we strive to cut out things like bread/breadrolls due to their harsh effects on the body… If you (like me) have a love for sandwiches, and need a solution to the processed starch problem.

Well KFC has a proposed alternative (not answer). The specs for this sandwich are as follows as per NZ herald

The Double Down Sandwich is made of two pieces of bacon, two melted slices of cheese and a secret-ingredient sauce encased in two deep-fried slabs of chicken. It is to be released in Australia today.

A spokeswoman for Restaurant Brands New Zealand yesterday said a launch date for the new burger has not been confirmed, however it is “not very far away”.”

some of the nutritional info includes

” 1939 kilojoules, the 212g original recipe has 32g of fat and 540 calories; while the grilled version has 460 calories and 23g of fat.”

Lastly

Australian nutritionist Susie Burrell said it would take about two hours of walking to burn off the calories.

And for those who are trying to sort out their lives by calorie counting here are some other culprits and some info pertaining to them.

Just because Im amazing

I love restaurants… and I love reviewing them even more. Years ago, a colleague of mine, recommended this amazing restaurant to me. raved about the service, portion sizes, and overall great quality of the food. After putting it in the back of my mind for a long time. I decided to go out of my way to find out if this astonishing review was true.

Armed with some my taste buds, comrades (in the form of Thatmanruss, Weldedgrass and waxlyrical) and a hunger for some Quality Italian food. I ventured out to the Venue of choice. Situated conveniently on corner Eastwood and Beyers Naude Drive in Randpark Ridge, Johannesburg.

Great Vibe, and waiters who where more than eager to assist. Our Waiter, a polite gentleman, who knew the menu very well, assisted us with absolutely anything we required. Drinks came, the starters, mains and the day seemed to going pretty well. I did have a few small issues, (but I know when im just nitpicking) so Ill go the main issue. The Dessert. Mains I had an Amazing Traditional Spaghetti and Meatballs. full of flavour, but not overpowering.

Dessert was a brownie tart with Choc chip Ice-cream. sounds great right? well it wasnt, it was dry and the ice-cream was good, but not good enough to complete the legacy the mains left.

just incase you are interested, here is a pic of my plate, mid meal 🙂

Overall experience… Id say excellant. the manager checked in on us a few times (maybe he suspected something, but at least hid it well) the waiters (all of them) were very pleasant and helpful, and the extensive quality non dessert menu is amazing. wonderful atmosphere make it a great date/business/family restaurant.

Would I go there again. for sure. and you should stop by if you had not…

Just because Im amazing.
