This extremely stunning, extremely Italian, Bugatti 16c Galibier, is a pure and unadulterated exercise in excess. Don’t get me wrong this car is just beautiful, gorgeous, mind bogglingly pretty, but Its become so convoluted to the point where the true beauty, the engineering beauty of the Veyron, has lost all meaning. And the custom luggage doesn’t help the case.

I love Bugatti, their history speaks for itself, that is why I will withhold final judgement until the car is launched in 2015.

the grass is always greener on the welded side

So now the beautiful Bugatti has been made more ostentatious by adding some porcelain bits to it – the crockery-spec Grand Sport L’Or Blanc (White Gold to you and I). Built in association with Bugatti (of course) and chinasmiths, Königliche Porzellan-Manufaktur (Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin) it was unveiled at a premiere ceremony in Berlin at the KPM workshops. This fastest covertible is the first car ever to be adorned by porcelain.

Nevertheless, the wheel centres, fuel and oil filler caps, EB badge on the rump, centre console surround and rear interior centre trim are all rendered from china. Some even have relief elephants in them.

You might have also noticed the bad-trip paintwork, which has been applied to mimic the reflections from studio lights on a normal Veyron.

It costs about £1.48m (that’s 59 new Golf GTIs) and there’s only one in the world.
